She shared with Express.co.uk her holistic approach to burning belly fat and flattening your stomach.
How to burn belly fat
“You want to be doing a 360 approach,” Lilly explained.
Lilly detailed how training, diet, and mindset are the three key elements to gettings abs – as well as pilates.
“So, from the training side of things, you need to be in a calorie deficit with the training styles you are doing,” Lilly said.
“What I always recommend, and the Lean approach is cardio based-training and light strength training and then pilates, or another exercise to specifically target muscle.
“So, how are you in calorie deficit? What foods are you eating to make you want to work out, feeling happy and great so you then want to get into that calorie deficit by moving your body.”
Lastly, mindset is important to achieving your abs goals, Lilly says.
She also reminds readers to know everybody is different and being happy and healthy is the most important thing.
“Then you have the psychological side of things, knowing that this isn’t going to be a quick fix, you’re not going to do 100 crunches then you suddenly have a six-pack,” Lilly said.
“Even the slimmest of people can suffer from belly fat and, often, the abdomen is one of the most dangerous places to store fat,” Dr Mosley explained.
He continued: “As if this were not bad enough, fat cells deep in your abdomen – also known as ‘visceral fat’ – are reluctant to let go of their energy-stash.
“To find the extra energy needed to fuel a small energy deficit, or a standard gym session, your body will look to other reserves first, like your glutes.
“Fortunately, recent breakthroughs in medical and sports science have shown that it is possible to throw this gradient into reverse: you can lose belly fat, and you can lose it fast.”
