Kate Middleton, 39, and Prince William, 39, landed in Northern Ireland this morning, where they plan to spend the day speaking to young people living in Derry. The couple’s first visit was to Ulster University’s Magee Campus to meet with student nurses whom they spoke to via video call a few months ago during the UK’s national lockdown.
Emilia Wickstead is a New Zealand-born London-based designer and the purple suit comes from her Autumn/Winter 2021 collection.
This means the outfit is not yet available to buy as it appeared on the runway as recently as earlier this year.
Kate finished the look with navy-blue heels and a black quilted bag with gold metal touches.
The shoes are by Emmy London and are in the ‘Josie’ style, while the shoulder bag is from British fashion brand Jaeger.
Underneath her jacket, Kate donned a dark blue polo neck which matched her belt and shoes.
Her outfit’s blue colours also brought out the royal blue of the Duchess’ sapphire engagement ring, which she barely removes from her wedding finger.
Kate’s luscious locks were up in a casual ponytail and styled in subtle waves.
As for earrings, she wore a simple silver pair.
Samantha added: “Bold colour is big news for autumn-winter 2021. We’ve had over a year stuck inside and style is all about fun, dressing up again and bringing some colour to grey, cold days.
“In fashion psychology purple is a very regal colour. It means independence and creativity. It’s also, interestingly, the colour of transformation.
“And I think we have seen a transformation in Kate over the last few years.
“She is transitioning into a new life at the top of the Royal Family and from her bolder style choices and use of colour, it’s clear she has grown in confidence.
“We are really seeing her step into that role.”
Royal fans were quick to comment on social media how “beautiful” Kate looked.
Isabel Martins tweeted: “Beautiful look for today, comfortable with a very beautiful colour.”
Twitter user @dearsham wrote: “She looked nice in turtle-neck tucked in with a belt. She has the figure for it.”
User @ladygugu55 said: “Love the colour of Duchess Catherine’s outfit.”
