Thomas Tuchel will hope first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy can overcome a hip injury in time for the visit of the Premier League champions.
Mendy sustained the knock against Zenit Saint Petersburg, so back-up Kepa Arrizabalaga started the victory at Tottenham and Carabao Cup clash with Aston Villa.
Tuchel’s only other concern is winger Christian Pulisic, who suffered an ankle injury with United States during the international break earlier this month but could return to the starting line-up on Saturday.
Manchester City’s injury list is more extensive and Pep Guardiola may be without many of his defenders for the trip to west London.
John Stones has not made an appearance this season due to a lack of fitness and a subsequent muscle injury, while fellow centre-back Aymeric Laporte is also a doubt due to various “niggles” Guardiola alluded to last week.
Elsewhere, left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko and midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri are unavailable.
