Thank you for devoting two front-page articles to the terrible shooting at Club Q nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado [“Army vet says he went into ‘combat mode’ to stop gunman” and “Seattle LGBTQ+ community on edge after Colorado nightclub shooting,” Nov. 22, A1].
I am not a member of the LGBTQ community, but I honor its members’ commitment (and that of others) to have a place to gather safely. Kudos to Richard Fierro for heroically attacking the gunman and saving lives. Sadly, this shooting, as so many others, in so many places, involved a gunman using an AR-15-style semi-automatic weapon killing five and injuring 18.
When will our leaders support gun-control measures to prevent similar tragic shootings that will affect others and could affect even our own families?
