A scene in Gebroke Harte.
e.tv is capitalising on the tremendous popularity of its Afrikaans-dubbed Turkish telenovelas and is launching ePlesier as a new Afrikaans TV channel, on its free-to-air satellite service on 18 April.
ePlesier will reside on channel 112 on Openview and primarily broadcast a range of Turkish telenovelas dubbed in Afrikaans that have proven to be immensely popular with viewers over the past few years on e.tv as well as on Openview and led to a new cottage industry of Afrikaans dubbing and voice-artist work for South African actors.
e.tv says ePlesier will now have “all your favourite Afrikaans-Turkish programmes in one place for never-ending viewing all day long”.
“ePlesier launches on 18 April on Openview and will showcase most-loved Turkish Telenovelas dubbed in Afrikaans on one channel.”
It will air old-time favourites like Gebroke Harte, Bittersoet and Stiletto Vendetta with omnibus repeat blocks on Saturdays and Sundays and also bring viewers Kurt & Shura, Die Put and Vierspel Vuurspel.
