A star-studded field has assembled for the King Price Trailseeker event at Plaisir Wine Estate in Paarl on Saturday.
The field includes world champion Nino Schurter of Switzerland and local favourites and Olympian Alan Hatherly, Matt Beers and Commonwealth Games cyclist Candice Lill.
The Trailseeker Series is a series of premier mountain bike events that attracts athletes from around the world.
The race starts and ends at Plaisir with distances including the 65km, 40km, 20km and 10km rides.
“We are thrilled to have such a diverse and talented group of athletes competing in this year’s King Price Trailseeker event,” said event organiser, Fritz Pienaar.
“The combination of international and local competitors is sure to make for an exciting and competitive race, especially with the presence of Nino Schurter, who is considered to be the best mountain biker of all time.”
The event will double as a School Cycling South Africa points event, as it’ll give the opportunity for kids to ride on the same trails on the same day.
Spectators welcome to come out and support, with Saturday’s Trailseeker Series starting at 06:30.
