Fuel shortages may lead to ‘pump prices rising’ with ‘Government’s incompetence’ to blame

Mr Cox continued, saying: “Drivers impacted most by the latest Government’s ignorance and incompetence are almost certainly self-employed businesses, taxis and the small to medium sized logistics companies, who don’t have in-house bunker fuel to fulfil their needs.

“Oil companies will now prioritise high profit margin forecourts such as motorway services and their own directly owned garages.

“They will NOT be socially and publicly spirited as that approach is not profitable.

“The greedy fuel supply chain wholesalers will hike their prices on independent small franchise garages, who will also be last to be bulk supplied.
