It is important to clean your washing machine often as not doing so can impact its performance and leave your clothes unclean. This can be done using both natural and chemical products, according to Mrs Hinch fans.
Facebook user Sammy Dodson said: “Astonish mould spray, spray loads inside the seals then stick on a hot empty cycle with some soda crystals in the drum too.”
Vi Gillies added: “Agree, it’s amazing! Or astonishing!”
Claire Petty said the same thing. She wrote: “Spray with mould and mildew spray, leave then put on a hot wash.”
Tracy Odgaard commented: “Mould and mildew spray and cotton pads, leave for a bit.”
Catherine Lane commented: “I’ve changed to powder and over the months it’s got less and less scummy.”
Amy Cunningham wrote: “I know you’ve just moved there but it looks to me like it’s mould from the door not being left open after a wash over a long time. We had this too! You can put some bleach soaked paper towels over the mould and leave it overnight.”
Rebecca Burton advised using dishwasher tablets. She said: “Couple of dishwasher tablets in there on a hot wash, might have to do it a few times.”
Michelle Batchelor added: “I made a thick paste of bicarb and water, put it round there, leave overnight then scrub with toothbrush. Once a week I do bicarb paste in drum and round the grey bit of door and in the soap powder drawer and put it on the hottest wash.”
Baking soda can work wonders on different sorts of dirt and stains.
Vinegar can also be added to the mix for best results.
