Jurgen Klopp lauds Mo Salah after goal v Man City
Jurgen Klopp will be more than happy with how his Liverpool side have started the season as they head into the international break.
The Reds previous campaign was blighted by injuries – which ruined any real chance of success – but this time things look different.
Although they have lost the likes of Harvey Elliott, Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita to injury, it’s nowhere near the struggles they faced last season.
And it’s not hampered proceedings so far, with Klopp’s side sitting second in the Premier League after seven games, one point behind leaders Chelsea.
Liverpool, unlike their rivals, spent very little in the transfer window, with RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate as the sole newcomer to Anfield this summer.
The 22-year-old central defender joined the club in a move worth £34million and impressed on his debut in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace last month.
But as always, even when things are going as well as they are, Klopp will be on the lookout for any potential options to improve his squad.
And one such way could be through the acquisition of highly-rated Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid Karim Adeyemi.
According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are competing with Bayern Munich for Adeyemi’s signature, while Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig are also said to have expressed an interest in the forward.
The report claims Salzburg will be looking for a fee of £25-35m if he is to be prized away from the Austrian champions.
The forward is the latest forward to come out of the talent production line at Salzburg, with the likes of Erling Haaland and Leicester ’s Patson Daka before him.

While it’s true Liverpool haven’t played with an out and out forward since the days of Luis Suarez, Adeyemi would offer Klopp an alternative to anything they currently have.
The German forward is a clinical finisher and at just 19 years of age, he has his whole career ahead of him.
The Salzburg forward has already scored 11 goals in just 15 matches this season, including three in the Champions League after brace against Lille last time out.
Adeyemi, who was released by Bayern as a youngster, has already made his senior debut for Germany, coming on as a substitute in the 6-0 win against Armenia in World Cup qualifying last month.
But scoring goals is not the only thing Adeyemi is capable of, with the Germany international providing no fewer than 11 assists for the Austrian champions last season.
While height isn’t on his side (5ft 7in), Adeyemi makes up for it in skill, and his pace coupled with his ability to run at defenders in dangerous areas has the potential to cause a problem for any defence in the Premier League.
Adeyemi would also offer a far cheaper alternative to Haaland, whose £68m release clause will come into play next summer.
Even though Liverpool have Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino to lead the line, they haven’t had a forward in the middle of the front three with the finishing ability that Adeyemi has, since the days of Luis Suarez.
But battling Bayern certainly won’t be easy, especially given the fact that they will be looking to replace the ageing Robert Lewandowski in the not too distant future.
If Liverpool are to get Adeyemi, then they will certainly have to move quickly if they are to win the race to sign the German star.
