The 2021/22 Premier League season is fast approaching.
Fixtures for the new campaign will be released tomorrow as clubs begin to dream of what they may achieve.
Liverpool’s aim will be to recapture the league title from Manchester City after missing out on top spot to Pep Guardiola’s men last term.
The Reds will be without one key man next campaign after it was recently announced that Gini Wijnaldum has signed for PSG.
Jurgen Klopp will be looking to strengthen his group ahead of another competitive campaign, but who could be on their way to Anfield?
Mirror Sport have rounded up the latest Liverpool transfer rumours…
Reds open talks with Vlahovic
Liverpool have opened talks with Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic’s agents over a possible move to Anfield, it has been claimed.
The 21-year-old Serbian striker enjoyed a brilliant season in Serie A, scoring 21 goals in 37 league matches.
Italian publication TuttoSport have reported that a deal could be completed for a fee in the region of £43m and £52m, though the Reds face competition for his services.
Juventus and AC Milan are also believed to be in negotiations over a transfer for the attacker, who joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018.
Tielemans responds to Liverpool links
Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has been quizzed on his future and interest from Liverpool ahead of Belgium’s Euro 2020 match with Denmark on Thursday.
Tielemans has been listed as a possible Wijnaldum replacement for the Reds, following the Dutchman’s departure to PSG.
And the Foxes’ star man has now responded to recent reports about a possible move to Anfield, telling reporters:
“I don’t look at the rumours. I’m just focused on this tournament.
“I’ve said that several times, whatever happens after we will see. I just want to focus on this tournament, that’s it.
“That (rumoured £80m price tag) does nothing for me. It’s nice for the journalists and the internet. I’m just focused on the Euros and making the most of it.”
Harry Wilson opens up on next move
Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has provided Liverpool fans with an update on his future at the club.
The Welshman has spent the last three seasons out on loan at Derby County, Bournemouth and Cardiff City and is expected to leave Anfield this summer in search of first-team football.
Wilson, who is with Wales at Euro 2020, has admitted he will leave any decision he makes until after the tournament.
“Going into the season, I had the Euros in my head. I knew that was coming at the end of the season,” he told Wales Online.
“I knew I had to be somewhere where I was going to play regular football, make sure I had the minutes that I wanted. I knew being at Liverpool I wasn’t going to get that.
“When you come away with Wales, I only ever focus on the next game because I feel if you are to think about anything else you’d be silly, you can get distracted so my focus here is fully on Wales and making sure we get as far in this competition as we can.
“Once the competition has finished that’s when I’ll think about what’s happening at club level.”
