- The tour, which was supposed to kick start next month, was postponed to next year.
- Per a press statement, the tour was postponed after consultations with “relevant stakeholders”.
Multi-award-winning music group Mafikizolo, in partnership with the Mazwi Dyne Group, announced it would embark on a grand tour in the country’s seven provinces to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The group’s legacy tour would kick start next year. Per a press statement, the tour was set to start on 17 December. Instead, the tour would start on 13 May.
“The decision to postpone the inaugural of the tour follows consultations with all relevant stakeholders, including Mafikizolo management,” the statement read. “The decision is also intended to make sure all Mafikizolo fans have enough time to restructure their diaries to attend a once-in-a-lifetime event that promises to be an experience for the ages.”
Ticket holders were expected to be contacted and notified of new dates and the tour’s continuation.
Mawzi Dyne Group CEO Elias Skhosana, in the statement, assured all Mafikizolo’s supporters that he was “fully committed” to hosting the inaugural tour, adding they would ensure those who wanted to attend the tours had enough time to prepare.
“Mazwi Dyne Group is fully committed to hosting the inaugural Mafikizolo 25th anniversary legacy tour throughout South Africa and Africa in 2023. We understand the amount of love and appreciation South Africans have for the Mafikizolo brand,” he said in the statement. “We also understand that our people have very busy schedules post Covid-19 economic recovery. Those are some of the reasons we believe that May 2023 weekend is a reasonable time to attend the lavish event in Sun City.”
