Manchester United are among a handful of clubs keeping an eye on 18-year-old Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsey, who has been impressive for the Scottish side this season
Manchester United are tracking the progress of young Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsey, according to reports.
Ramsey has been catching the eye for the Dons since making his breakthrough into the first team earlier this year.
His performances have attracted attention from clubs south of the border, with United joining Everton, Leicester City, West Ham and Southampton on the list of Ramsey’s admirers, according to The Press and Journal .
Everton sent their top scout to watch Aberdeen’s 2-0 defeat by Motherwell on September 11 and have reportedly put Ramsey on their wish-list for January as a result.
Rafa Benitez’s side are particularly interested, having turned their attention to Ramsey after seeing an £8million bid for Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson rejected in the summer.

The Sun reports that United’s scouts have also been regular visitors to Pittodrie this season because they are ‘tracking’ Ramsey by compiling a dossier on his strengths and weaknesses.
The right-back only made his senior debut six months ago but has developed enough to become one of manager Stephen Glass’ first names on the team sheet this season.
Ramsey signed a new deal with Aberdeen until June 2024 back in January, but Glass knows that he will struggle to keep his young star if a Premier League club makes a bid.
“Would I expect offers in January? I wouldn’t be surprised, let’s be honest about that,” he said ahead of Aberdeen’s game against Celtic on Sunday.
“I’m not surprised Calvin is getting attention because he’s been brilliant since he came in.
“It’s no surprise to me that people are looking as Calvin fits the profile for what a lot of English clubs are looking for.
“He is in a similar position to a lot of young players in Scotland. Scottish players are an attractive proposition for clubs south of the border with all the money and finance they have.

“They can pick young players who can come in and further develop within their group. There are a lot of young players within Scotland that fit that bill.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if people try to get Calvin sooner rather than later. But it needs to be right for Calvin and it needs to be right for us as a club.
“We will see what happens.”
Catching the eye as a defender has not been easy for Ramsey, because Aberdeen are on a eight-match winless run.
Ramsey recently made the step up to international level, having made his debut for Scotland Under-21s in last month’s 1-1 draw against Turkey.
