Busisiwe Mkhwebane was fired recently.

From what seemed to be a
sympathiser in the early days of her appointment, Busisiwe Mkhwebane
quickly came into her own as an outright Zuma proxy, embedded within the
patron-client relations that defined Zuma’s presidency, writes Mcebisi Ndletyana.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane has left the
Office of the Public Protector. It was not a voluntary departure.

MPs, 318 of them, instructed
President Cyril Ramaphosa last Monday to fire her.
