Britney vs Spears poster.
A day before Britney Spears heads to court in her long battle against the conservatorship she has been in for 13 years, Netflix will premiere the documentary Britney vs Spears.
The streaming service released the first gripping trailer for the upcoming film, which will be available on Tuesday, 28 September.
According to the official logline, Britney vs Spears tells the explosive story of Britney’s life and her public and private search for freedom. Director Erin Lee Carr (How To Fix a Drug Scandal, Dirty Money) and journalist Jenny Eliscu delve into the tangled weave of the conservatorship.
“Featuring years-long investigative work, exclusive interviews and new documents, this Netflix feature film paints a thorough portrait of the pop star’s trajectory from girl next door to a woman trapped by fame and family and her own legal status. It shows Britney’s life without utilising the traumatic images that have previously defined her,” reads the logline.
“I’ve worked my whole life; I don’t owe these people anything,” Britney can be heard saying in the trailer.
