Morne Steyn (Gallo)
Springbok flyhalf Morne Steyn is on his way to Scotland to join the Bulls after Johan Goosen suffered a knee injury in last Saturday’s 29-19 win over Cardiff Blues.
Goosen suffered what appeared to be a knee ligament injury during the Bulls’ comeback win in Wales.
Bulls coach Jake White said Goosen’s injury “did not look good” and the expectation is that the Springbok will be sidelined for an extended period.
While Chris Smith proved himself a worthy replacement by kicking 19 points as the Bulls fought back from 16-3 down at half-time, Netwerk24 reports that the Bulls have called up Steyn to bulk up their flyhalf stocks.
Steyn, the Springboks’ hero in the third Test against the British & Irish Lions, had only recently returned to South Africa following the overseas leg of the Rugby Championship.
The veteran flyhalf did not play against Australia and New Zealand but could feature against Edinburgh in the United Rugby Championship on Friday.
