Jared Padalecki is reportedly recovering after being involved in a car crash.

In footage taken from a panel on Sunday, Jensen Ackles, Padalecki’s Supernatural co-star, said the actor would be unable to join him onstage at their hit CW show’s weekend-long convention because he was “in a very bad car accident”.

The Boys star told fans that the Walker actor “wasn’t driving, he was in the passenger seat” at the time of the accident and that there were thankfully “no fatalities”.

“He’s lucky to be alive,” Jensen added. “And not only that, but he’s at home recovering, which – the fact that he’s not in a hospital right now is blowing my mind because I saw the car.”

Per E! News, Padalecki is recuperating at home and doing well.

While the date of the accident was not specified, this appears to be the second public appearance the actor missed out on after apologising to fans for his absence from an event early last week.

“Sorry to miss y’all in NYC this weekend. Thank you and the #WalkerFamily for all the love and support. [sic]” he wrote in a tweet last Thursday.
