Kanye West has scored his first diamond status song in the US.
According to a post shared by Def Jam Recordings, the rapper’s 2007 track, Stronger, was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Achieving diamond certification from the RIAA means that a song has gone ten times platinum (reached/surpassed 10 million sales).
“Congratulations to Yeezy and the entire team,” the label said in the post, sharing a snippet of the clip with a digital diamond plaque on top of it.
Stronger was taken from Kanye’s third studio album, Graduation.
The song, which samples Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, received multiple awards, including the Grammy for Best Solo Rap Performance.
