TikTok star Gabriel Salazar dead at 19 after high-speed police chase, fiery crash | Channel

Gabriel Salazar, known to his 2.2 million TikTok followers as @gabenotbabe, has died at the age of 19.

The star was involved in a high-speed police chase at 01:25 on Sunday in Texas, which ended in a fiery crash.

His last Instagram post came just hours before. Salazar posed alongside what appears to be the accident vehicle.

Per People, and according to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy overheard a call from the Crystal City Police Department initiating a traffic stop with a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, followed be the officer saying he was in pursuit of the vehicle. The sheriff’s deputy and officer unsuccessful attempted to deploy a tire deflection device.

The star was in the driver’s seat, with three other passengers in the car, when he drove off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle hit several trees, rolled over and went up in flames.

Gabriel Salazar, and his three passengers, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Salazar’s family have since created a GoFundMe page for his memorial.
