Waitress dies after botched £140 bum lift as ‘staff at unlicensed clinic flee’

Cinthia Lizeth Vega, from Monterrey, Mexico died after booking in to Elohim Integral Esthetic Services for a bum lift and arm liposuction that appear to have gone wrong

A young woman has died after paying the equivalent of £142 for a bum lift and arm liposuction.

Cinthia Lizeth Vega from Monterrey, Mexico lost her life after a shot of anaesthetic caused her blood pressure to rocket on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old had been booked in for beauty treatments at Elohim Integral Esthetic Services.

Julio César Vega, her devastated father, told local news outlet Info 7 that Cinthia was rushed to hospital for medical treatment when the procedure went wrong.

The dad said that the family had warned her not to go ahead with the surgery.

He said: “I told her not to go, and she went. I didn’t see her. We all told her don’t go. But, well, she wanted to do it.”

He went on to claim that the clinic’s staff fled, leaving Cinthia with her mother to die.

The Nuevo León Health Department has said the clinic was only licensed to provide general medicine consultation as well as private specialised medicine consultation.

None of its staff were licensed to perform any sort of surgical procedures.

A statement from the health authorities, who gained a warrant to search the premises, read: “During the tour of the establishment, no document was detected that will certify the academic or professional preparation of the owners.”

Authorities in Nuevo León have since shut down the clinic, which is reportedly owned by a Dr Nancy Deyanira Mireles Reyna.

Local news outlets have reported that Nuevo León State Attorney General’s Office had received complaints in the past accusing Elohim Integral Esthetic Services of malpractice.

The surgery Cinthia was set to undergo is known locally as “aqualipo” as jets of water are used to loosen any fat before it is suctioned away.

Bum lifts have become increasingly popular over the past few years, in no small part due to rear-end influencers such as Kim Kardashian.

The mum-of-three’s enviable curves – not to mention that time she broke the internet with her behind – sparked a stampede for the Brazilian butt lift.

Lauren Goodger, Chloe Ferry, Jemma Lucy and Blac Chyna are all rumoured to have gone under the knife to shape their booties, which they deny.

But while it might seem like a quick fix the procedure can lead to disfigurement and even death.

In August last year Leah Cambridge, a 29-year-old mother-of-three paid the ultimate price after she travelled to Turkey for the £3,000 bum lift.

The beautician suffered three heart attacks while on the operating table, leaving her children without their mum and her partner, Scott Franks, devastated.

At the time Scott, Leah’s partner of 10 years, said: “Leah was paranoid that she had excess weight from having three kids.

“I told her she was beautiful how she was but she really wanted it for her own confidence.”
