Adele’s new single is here, and it was definitely worth the wait!
The singer released Easy on Me on Friday, along with a music video.
The clip, which starts off in black and white, shows the star leaving a life behind as she sells her house and moves. Along the way, she comes across families and young couples as she delivers her emotional lyrics.
“Go easy on me baby/I was still a child/Didn’t get the chance to feel the world around me/I had no time to choose what I chose to do/So go easy on me,” she sings.
The video eventually turns from black and white to colour, possibly signalling a shift in the singer’s life.
The single’s release comes just one day after Adele revealed the release date for her upcoming album, 30.
The project, which will be her first album in six years, will drop on 19 November.
The recording of 30 began three years ago, Adele wrote on Twitter, at a time when her life was “a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil”.
