It might seem too early to start thinking about Christmas shopping, but families are being urged to get a head start amid fears of toy shortages.

Toy shops across Britain have been issuing warnings about a potential limited supply in stock before December 25.

Amazon, Argos and The Toy Shop are all stocking some of this year’s best toys to give to little ones this Christmas. However, the toy shortage fears mean these particular items could go out of stock long before the holidays arrive.

Geoff Sheffield, founder of toy chain The Entertainer, explained how the supply chain problems are being caused by a range of issues. These include a lack of shipping containers from Asia and the on-going HGV driver shortage.

He said: “If you know what you want to buy your child, don’t be chasing round the country in December.
