Dale Hannon and Chloe Higgins died just days apart

Tributes have flooded in after a young couple, who were expecting a child, died suddenly just days apart.

Dale Hannon passed away in Tenerife, Spain, on September 9 before his partner, Chloe Higgins, died at home in Limerick, Ireland, eight days later last Friday.

Mum-of-two Ms Higgins, 26, was six months pregnant at the time of her death, reports the Irish Mirror.

The circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths have not been confirmed.

However, it is understood Ms Higgins lived at Sarsfield Barracks, the headquarters of 12th Infantry battalion of the Irish Defence Forces.

While Mr Hannon had links to Hyde Rangers FC in the Limerick District League, with both offering condolences to the families affected on social media.

A mourner said: “Rest in peace Chole and Dale and your baby girl. Absolutely heartbreaking

And another added: “Just a young man gone too soon. How unfair this world can be. I despair at times when reading stuff like this. May he fly with the angels as he returns home.”

And a third said: “Such a beautiful girl no one knows of other people’s troubles so if anything just be kind.”

Separate funerals will be held for Mr Hannon and Ms Higgins this week.

Ms Higgins’ mass will be streamed live here on Friday.

She is survived by her two daughters, Tia and Charley.

Balloons were due to be let off outside Ms Higgins’ home at the barracks on Saturday.

Mary Crawford has set up a GoFundMe page to help Mr Hannon’s family pay for his funeral costs.
